I'm trying to knit an elephant for the baby's first birthday. I've found a lovely pattern in
this book, which is really easy to follow for knitters with basic skills, such as myself, and having a birthday deadline is keeping me motivated to get it finished! I really don't get any time to do any crafting at the moment, which is making me enjoy this project all the more.
I am sure you will make a marvellous elephant Emma! I would definitely need a deadline to spur me on I think, I am clueless when it comes to knitting! Good luck x
ReplyDeleteThank you Suzie, I'm not an accomplished knitter at all, I've only ever made knitted donkeys before now! Emma x
DeleteMy little boy is a couple of months older than yours and it's only recently I've managed to get back into knitting more. I'm aiming to knit him a birthday crown over the next few weeks. That elephant looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteooo I like the sound of a birthday crown, let me know how you get on! Emma x
DeleteAw, how lovely! I knitted a monkey once, but an elephant sounds so sweet.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lottie - just done the body and legs so far, bit daunted by the trunk! Emma x
DeleteA knitted elephant sounds lovely. Probably beyond my very basic knitting capabilities though. However basic my skills, I think the cosy, relaxed vibe of your gorgeous pic sums up why I love knitting by the woodburner though. More welly socks for my 5 year old at the moment.
ReplyDeleteI love knitted toys. So cuddly and homely. I am into sock knitting. All my family and friends get them for their birthdays!
